Give me trees
A bit of shade
A bit of dappled sunlight
A grove, a copse, a bower
And I'll want to stay forever

And Grond gets to live there...SCORE HAHA! I love it being more junglish than like a mid-west forest.

Yes, that's sort of how I pictured it in my head. Of course the emberwood trees would make it look a lot different in regards to color, but since I'm no artist, this is a close representation.

The thing I really want to convey with the Eldenwood is that it is comprised of many different 'regions' with their own look and feel. I also wanted it to raise a lot of questions - Why is it called the Eldenwood if the Elden do not go there? What keeps folk from settling there? Who built the Leafgates? And so on...

So, why is it called the Eldenwood if the Elden do not go there?

And what keeps folk from settling there?

And for that matter, who built the Leafgates?

With pleasure...(Trall have eaten other folk before, it's still not very common). But the fact so few people go into the eldenwood only adds more and more to the paradox that is Grondthanc who has built a bloody house in the thing.

Well, like we've been saying, his house is in the very outskirts of the forest...where it's mostly safe. Not many dare to go deeper. Even fewer return to tell the tale.
