Oh and after we blockade those foul mages and demand the college disbands...

Tain is not demanding anything of anyone, least of all the mages in the employ of one such as Dennivar - who is still lurking about.

We're on our way to Dharfang and once there, we should decide what to do next. I think Tain may have some ideas of her own.

And then....there's Roveno. Hmmmmmmm.

Sometimes it helps to break things down into manageable chunks:

1. The king of Aranorn has been murdered and the queen is missing. This has allowed the Council of Mages (under Dennivar) to assume control of the city and the Elenian army. In effect, this means that Aranorn will basically do whatever Dennivar and the mages command. At least until the queen can be found (if she still lives, that is).

2. The general population of Aranorn knows nothing of what went on at the Mages College - only that a group of Trall attacked it and destroyed buildings. With this being the only information they have, the people of Aranorn are naturally pissed at Dharfang.

3. Dennivar has an agenda. Otherwise, there would be no reason for him to assume command of Aranorn. What is he after? What would a man displaced from his own reality and thrust into an alternate one (to him) want?

4. Andel needs to be buried. Before he starts to stink. Someone should say some nice words at his funeral. Razz

5. Do the Sprites and the Isle of Corte have anything to say about one of their own being imprisoned and experimented on? What exactly were the mages doing to the prisoners, anyway. Roveno may be able to shed light on this.

6. What happens to the party now? Will everyone go their seperate ways? What's the glue that binds them together?

Just a few things to think about..... Wink

Helps me keep it all straight.
You know what a goof I am.
Thank you Smile

There are two guards in Aranorn that know that Grondthanc's companions where kidnapped. And if anyone bloody cares about the humans of Aranorn they better talk Grondthanc out of burning the entire city to the ground (which he has the power to do). And take into account Grondthanc more or less lived in the city for 13 years and knows many commoners, making his new found primal hatred for humans (due to Andel's death) all the more strange. Oh, and Grondthanc may be very angry at Tain for getting them to that college in the first place (A possible threat to her health)

Ah, but Grond is so very much more than a mindless force of destruction. He is a rational thinker who looks at things from all sides before moving ahead with a plan. This is why the Trall follow him...because he isn't a kill first, ask questions later kind of leader. He's been out in the world and has seen a lot more than the average Trall. He knows how to read between the lines.

....or at least that's how *I* view Grond. Razz

While Grond has become this in time...the death of Andel has pissed him off into primal Trall-think mode.

Yes, there's definitely some payback that could be sought, that's for sure. Things are definitely about to get interesting...nor are they always what they seem....

14 Re pay back on Sat Jul 28, 2012 12:49 am

Grondthanc is still fairly young for a Trall need I remind you (In his 60's) and he has a lot on his plate...more or less giving a 20 some year old the crown of an entire nation (race if you factor in the fact he can muster all the tribes)

Some possibilities:

1. Andel's funeral.

2. Telling the remaining Trall in Dharfang why Aranorn is now the enemy.

3. Dance number.

4. Interview Roveno to figure out what kinds of experiments were being done on the prisoners back at the Mage's College.

5. Send someone back to Aranorn (disguised?) to gather information.

6. Pajama party.

21 Re on Sat Jul 28, 2012 5:37 pm

I say we dig a hole in the ground and toss Andel in it, tie Tain to a post at the foot of the mountains and leave her, then dress all remaining trall in pajamas, march into the city dancing to the song "The Boys are back in town" and then burn the place to the ground.
